686 has just dropped their latest New Era collaboration, which is the Ranger cap, as part of their spring 2009 line up. This cap is indeed very appealing, and it does not come plain and just perfect to complement the season’s bold trend.

Indeed, this may look like it is knitted, but this cap actually features a checkerboard base in a knit-like two-tone styling. The only stitching there is on this cap is the 686 raised logo embroidery and the leaves, which are now in a semi-circle design and not just laying flat under the logo like on the usual 686 fitted caps.

Taking inspiration from Los Angeles “urban and artistic principals”, 686 brand has since then, been providing inventive outerwear and technical clothing. And as for their team up with New Era, they managed to produce a simple yet clean fitted cap that could really work for years.

The cap is actually available in Black and White colorways. And although the upper comes solid in its plain color, the 686 logo embroidery on the front left panel somehow makes this cap interesting. It comes large in scroll-like embroidery, which then really made it look not too plain after all.
